A boil is a painful, pus-filled bump that forms under your skin when bacteria infect (staphylococcus aureus) and inflame one or more of hair follicles. 

A furuncle, also known as a boil.

Difference between boil and carbuncle - A carbuncle is collection of boils that develop under the skin.When bacteria infect hair follicles, the follicles can swell and turn into boils and carbuncles.

A boil looks like a red, swollen, painful bump under the skin. As the infection gets worse, a whitish tip, also called a point or head, can appear at the center of the boil. This tip is usually the area from which the boil's pus will drain. A carbuncle looks like a cluster of interconnected boils.

There is lacking of ZINC in body is another cause of boils. Zinc is an important mineral for boosting immunity and is essential in the treatment of boils. Along with zinc, foods containing vitamin A (fish and dairy products), vitamin C (fruits and vegetables) and vitamin E (nuts and seeds) are helpful in strengthening the immune system.

 

Foods that causes boils - Sugary foods

1.   Keep the area clean and free of any irritants.

3.   Apply a warm compress to the boil several times a day.

4.   Don’t reuse or share cloths used for compresses.

A warm compress will help pull out the pus inside the boil. This can help the boil drain on its own.

If you attempt to pop or lance the boil yourself, you’ll put the area at risk of further infection.

HOMEOPATHIC MEDICINES –

 

Silica- Best suitablefor hard lump boils that are slow to develop, slow to come to a head, or slow to heal and disperse. Silica can help ripen the boil and assist expulsion of its contents. Boils usually start at the injured places, and Silicea can heal hard, nodular boils that tend to suppurate (form pus). It also helps remove any foreign bodies that enter the surface of the skin.

 

Hepar sulph - skin is unhealthy and tends to form pus on the slightest injury.Boils are highly painful and sensitive to touch. Large boils with multiple openings with discharge. The pain feels sharp or prickling.

 

Arsenicum -Large painful boils with burning pains, better for warm applications.  The person experiences a lot of anxiety and worry about the condition.

 

Belladonna - The boil is in the early stage and the skin is red, hot, throbbing and very tender with violent stabbing pains. The color of the skin may turn blue in the later stage.

Psorinum -The boils develop due to the secretion of excessive sebum. The eruptions bleed easily and continuously and tend to suppurate. The scalp looks dirty, and boils have a fetid, offensive odor.

 

Arnica Montana – Patient has tendency to small boils which are painful, one boil is cured, when the other comes out,skin is black and blue with  itching, burning, eruption of small pimples. Arnica produces a crop of boils all over.Boils occurs with soreness.

HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES FOR STRESS AND ANXIETY 

1)Aconitum nap 

A panic attack that comes on suddenly with very strong fear (even fear of death) may indicate this remedy. A state of immense anxiety may be accompanied by strong palpitations, shortness of breath, and flushing of the face. Sometimes a shaking experience will be the underlying cause. Strong feelings of anxiety may also occur when a person is just beginning to come down with a flu or cold.

2)Argentum nitricum

Stress or stage fright accompanied by agitation and a feeling of hurriedness. A physical sign corresponding to this medicine is stomach aches with belching, due to a slower digestion.

3) Kali phosphoricum

When a person has been exhausted by overwork or illness and feels a deep anxiety and inability to cope, this remedy may help. The person is jumpy and oversensitive, and may be startled by ordinary sounds. Hearing unpleasant news or thinking of world events can aggravate the problems. Insomnia and an inability to concentrate may develop, increasing the sense of nervous dread. Eating, warmth, and rest often bring relief. Headaches, backaches, and nervous digestive upsets are often seen when this remedy is needed.

4)Pulsatilla

People who need this remedy often express anxiety as insecurity and clinginess, with a need for constant support and comforting. The person may be moody, tearful, whiny, even emotionally childish. (Pulsatilla is a very useful remedy for children.) Getting too warm or being in a stuffy room often increases anxiety. Fresh air and gentle exercise often bring relief. Anxiety around the time of hormonal changes (puberty, menstrual periods, or menopause) often is helped with Pulsatilla.

5)Lycopodium

Individuals likely to respond to this remedy feel anxiety from mental stress and suffer from a lack of confidence. They can be self-conscious and feel intimidated by people they perceive as powerful (yet may also swagger or be domineering toward those with whom they feel more comfortable). Taking on responsibility can cause a deep anxiety and fear of failure, although the person usually does well, once started on a task. Claustrophobia, irritability, digestive upsets with gas and bloating, and a craving for sweets are often seen when this remedy is needed.

Arsenic Album is very good medicine for food poisoning. There are Diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting, in Vomiting there is  clear water or thick glairy mucus. If the  eats or drinks anything, it is vomited out quickly.

Stool -  loose, foul smelling, and is attended with weakness. Burning pain in the abdomen. Frequent thirst for small quantity of  water at short intervals.

*Verat. Alb 30*

There is copious vomiting. Even the smallest amount of water gets vomited. There is excessive weakness follows the vomiting. There is ausea and copious loose stoo. The body may feel cold, and there is cold seats on forehead

*Ipecac 30*

Food poisoning accompanied by intense nausea and vomiting. The nausea is not better by vomiting. There is vomiting of watery fluids, green mucus, or blackish matter. A frothy stool and pain around navel are often noted with the above symptoms.

Tongue clean.

*Aloe 30*

There is food poisoning with marked diarrhea. The stool is watery, and there is an urgent need to pass it.

Rumbling and gurgling in the rectum is present, and a constant bearing down is felt in the rectum.

*Colocynthis 30*

 It is considered for food poisoning when marked abdominal pains are present. There is cutting, colicky pains in the abdomen. The pain is better by bending double or pressing hard. The pain tends to worsen from slight eating or drinking. There is loose stool, vomiting and nausea.

*China Off 30*

There is food poisoning with diarrhea and extreme weakness. The stool is watery, foul, and painless with marked exhaustion and debility. Excessive flatulence in whole abdomen,  the abdomen is bloated.

The food poisoning is due to consumption of bad meat, unripe fruit, and bad water. It is also indicated for traveler’s diarrhea.

*Nux Vom 30*

There is excessive retching (efforts to vomit). The person wants to vomit thinks if he vomits it will be alright. A frequent ineffectual urge to pass the stool. The pt attempts to pass stool frequently but is only able to expel small quantities. Loud, rumbling, gurgling sounds in the abdomen.

*Croton Tig 30*

There are copious, watery, and gushing stool. The urge to pass stool is constant, and stool is passed suddenly with great force in one gush.

Colic before passing stool.

*Podophyllum 200*

There is profuse, offensive, yellowish or greenish stool. There is fetid flatus, mucus in the stool, and vomiting of hot, frothy mucus.

*Elaterium 30*

The food poisoning with violent vomiting and diarrhea. The stool is copious, watery, forceful, greenish, and frothy. Cutting pain in the abdomen.

*Zingiber 30*
